Exposed Coil Cup
My exposed coil pot was very hard to make. I first got a small amount of clay then gently roll until the clay has formed a long "snake". After I have made the "snake" I rolled it up until my desired coil design is made. All the sides had to be even and have equal sides. When making the exposed coil I would have to reuse some of the same ideas because I made my pot a bit big. Some of my designs were based off other coil pots that I have researched. While making my exposed coil pot, I had to create creative coils so the piece would look unique. One rule everyone has follow when making a exposed coil cup is to scratch and attach each coil you put on your piece. If you don't follow that rule then the coils will fall off, crack and or be separated during the firing process. Some of m designs that I included were all different shapes and sizes. Most of them were round circles but some were vertical lines or even squares.
